3 Ways House Plants Can Boost Your Mood

Plants look beautiful, sure, but did you know that they have some healing properties that can even boost your mood. Here are three reasons you should have plants in your home.

  1. The Scent: Certain aromas can actually have effects that resemble a high. Did you know that lavender helps you stay calm or even can improve sleep? Mint and Basil scents can help invigorate you. It’s all about how you want to use your space and what moods you want where your flowers are.
  2. The Look: Come on, flowers are so beautiful that you can’t help but smile when you look at them. Even if you get them for yourself, or are given some by a loved one, flowers and plants are a joy!
  3. The Air: Air quality improves when you have a lot of plants in your home. For instance, Country Living says that English Ivy, Barberton Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Aloe Vera, and spider plants of various species can make your air fresher? Since plants give off vital oxygen, fight airborne toxins, and even mitigate carbon monoxide. By the way, you should always have a carbon monoxide detector in your home. Plants can’t completely eliminate poor air quality, but they sure help freshen up the home when it gets a little stuffy or humid.

Between how plants smell, look, and function in your home, it’s a no-brainer to have them. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, resilient plants like Aloe Vera and English Ivy will help.
